ok.. after four years, it's time I had one of these homepage thingys.. here goes..
bit about me... 29 years (yup, whenever you read this - this page was only posted yesterday) *smirking and lookin round the rafters all innocent like*... born and bred New Zealander, definitely female, work in injury rehab for a living - kinda professional shoulder/asskicker as the situation dictates, but the job's up in the air at the moment, so next year.. who knows?. Bred parrots for the last 18 years, Australians and Asiatics mostly. Big fan of "mucking about in boats", big or small. Prone to spur-of-the-moment acts of silliness... bungee jumping, skydiving, driving four hours each way on a weeknight to spend a two hours with a friend... good food, good wine, good friends, good times... what life's all about really..
I'm no computer geek.. my idea of computer maintenance is taking the case off the hard drive and aiming the vacuum cleaner at it once a year *lookin sideways to Electric Dragon..*. no.. I's good and don't open up that lil closed box.. just run it through the dishwasher *chuckling and winking*. On the other hand, I ain't no newbie.. I can teach ya a little html if you like.
Started on BC, and, still a newbie when it crashed, I was lucky enough to find alto one night.. or he found me... and led me to the plantation, where Zeno took so many of us refugees under his wing and we found a home. thank you both.. without you I don't doubt I wouldn't be here now...
Been away for a couple of years between then and now... but the amazing part has been coming back and finding so many of the best people still here. Yes, some have moved on, and I miss them, but there is something very magic about making such good friends.. getting lost for a while and coming home to find them ready to welcome you back.. people you've never physically met.. but you know their voice in your head, you can see their smiles and feel those hugs so clearly...
A visitor surprised me recently by finding us "cliquey"... I can't agree. Bear in mind that many of us have been friends for years.. we know each other well.. that doesn't mean we don't want to know you *smile*... just means there will be memories and private jokes exchanged.. you just gotta jump in with both feet and hang around a while until you have your own to share..
With all due respect to other chat sites, I have never found another like this one. Now I don't bother looking... this is home, and will be as long as Chris and Pat keep working their magic.
