OK, here's a little something so you don't go away empty handed.
I'm half of the Hairy & Laura dynamic duo. I met my better half (Hairy) at Pavillion in 1994. We stayed 'just friends' through most of the Plantation days.
In January 1997 we began dating in real time. In July 1997 I moved north and Hairy and I found a house. We live together in real time and in 1999 we were married...TWICE. Yes, twice...on May 23rd and again on June 19th. Sounds funny, but when Hairy's unit was being activated for Kosovo and other nether-regions, we eloped May 23rd but did not cancel our wedding plans, since invites were already out and orders were placed and a gorgeous wedding gown was well on its way to completion. So, when he did not ship out, we repeated our vows in fancy dress for about 60 family members and friends.
Hairy and I have 4 kids between us, and a grandson that was born in November 1998.
We both love classic cars (especially muscle cars) and bought a 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix, with a 421 engine, 6-pack carbs, 4-speed tranny, and orignal 8-lug wheels as a project car. It is in great shape and the restoration will be minimal, but still a lot of fun to do together.
Hairy and I are both avid fisher-persons. He taught me to fly fish and even gave me a beautiful fly rod for Mother's Day. While I still like worm-dunking, there is a certain' Zen to fly fishing that attracts me. And fishing with the elegant and skillfully crafted flies Hairy creates for me has its own magick. (I even had Hairy tie several tiny delicate cream-colored flies that I wore on my wedding veil!)
Well, there you have it...about all you need to know to strike up a conversation with me if you see me out and about. And I hope you will. Because I would like to know about you, too!
